Digital Clock

3

Many people think that making a Clock is a very difficult task.

don't worry about it, you can make it your self,

for that I will show in today's, how to make a easiest beautiful clock.

To create this, only you need one 18pin IC

To make the watch visible digit ,you can use some 7 segment display or LED light.

There are many components in the clock that you can see,

but there is nothing to fear about it.

I've just added a lot of futures here for my own benefit.

as i added here LEDs brightens controls ,and also put a lithium battery for backup me 5days.

if you run this watch for low brightens then you can get more battery back up.

to recharge this battery, you obesely need a lithium charger.

other hand If you think that you don't need extra futures,

then you can use only Seven segment display and IC to make it.

Let's try to understand how the clock is working in a simple way.

In this project i had used 16f84 pic IC

this is a Micro Controller chip.

when you first time use this IC you defiantly need to program this IC.

so i mount this IC on my self made programer to program this.

if you want to make this programer then watch this video that i had made already,

I connect to a USB cable with my picture programmer and the other end to my computer.

and open the pic programming Application and put a clock hex file in this IC.

you can download this hex file.

after uploading the code I mounted this IC on a breadboard for testing purposes.

also, I used a 4x segment cathode display to see clock digits.

in this way, you could better understand this clock.

now time to connect all necessary wires from IC to the 7-segment display.

I connect a bunch of wires from IC to the 7segment display according to this diagram.

after completing all these processes, I set my power supply to 5 volts.

and powered up this board.

and you can see it is working very good.

Digital Clock

and I put 4 PNP transistors.

16F84 Digital Clock

hear's why I have used these four transistors, I have to tell you guys.

7-segment display consuming very low current.

then that LED consumes more current.

here I don't use 7 segment display.

I'm using here led display those led consuming more current.
Digital Clock

The IC could not take a lot of current.

That's why I'm using here 4 PNP transistors for proper working.

other hand I put here a Mosfet for display dimming mood by trimming this 10k 5-turn potentiometer.

16F84 Digital Clock

and also put a switch, IC bass, Crystal oscillator pf switch battery charger.

after mounting all those components now time to make those 7-segment displays.

I want to make a 7-segment display of the same size I take a copper dot board to make it.

and mark this copper dot board with a pen to cut out this Portation.

7-segment display,

after marking I make holes on the point with a drill.

now you can see there is some So scary. To make the sides smooth I used a sharp blade.

be careful because it is very sharp.

7-segment display

after completing this sensitive work you can see it is looking good.

7-segment display,

ok, now time to put led s. it will be a common cathode 7-segment display,

so I have to put all LEDs cathode side to the copper dot board outside.
7-segment display,

I make the same 4 pieces.

this is good for checking, after mounting all those 7 segments displayed on pcb.

because after putting all the LEDs it will be very stressful to replace any LED from the cathode display.

16F84 Digital Clock

I hope you know about the display's segment names.

to know the names, I wrote the seven segment names on a piece of paper.

and you can see here the same mark written on these PCBs.
7 segments

it is helping me to attach copper sting with the display.

I followed the paper to easily mount the strings on the PCB,

As a result strong holding.

I mount in the same way to 2nd 3rd and 4th. and don't forget to put a beeping led for endacting second.

after completing all procedures it's looking not bad, right??

for the first time testing it, I am using a 1000 mAh 3.7 volt lithium battery.

I attached this battery and turned on the switch. here we go, it is running.

after some time analyzing I see,

4 number display should be on 3rd no. display instead of this,

or 3number would be on 4number.

this is my fault when I'm designing PCB.

ok, look at these four 1k k resistors for the display's common input.

so I removed these 2 resistors and instead of this, I put a 1k resistor in the cross.

16F84 Digital Clock

now I hope it will work fine.

after turning on the switch I analyzed it was working perfectly.

now question is how long it will run on a single charge??

so I connected a USB cable to this clock without a battery.

other end of this cable I connect a USB doctor that already i made in the previous video.

watch this video

after running the clock and analyzing the doctor told me the clock consuming only 20 mAh.

so if I divide the 1000mAh battery into 20 mAh.

power consumption

then I get 50 hours to run this clock if you run low brightness mood then you can run it more.

I put 4 stands and fixed it it some two-sided tape, for this reason, it looks like a stand.

The last work left is to attach a lithium battery. so I can do this work.

my battery is almost dry. so I attached a charger cable for charging the battery.

after 2 hours when the battery is fully charged I remove the cable.

turn on the switch button and I hope you can see it is showing a digit.

also, I set the current time as my country time.

and it is very nice.

in a dark room, these bright LEDs can affect any human eye.

so that's why you can trim this 10k 5-turn potentiometer by decreasing display brightness.

I hope you do not have any other difficulties in making this beautiful clock project.

if you have any important questions regarding this project you can ask me in the comment section.

I will definitely help you.
